Did You Know?

Members need to set (lay) two runs per year (particularly if you lay a run in partnership with someone else). We have around 60 members so the maths are pretty simple - if every member laid 1 run a year in partnership with another member, we would only have 30 runs organized for the year.

Ask a member of the committee for help if you are not comfortable with setting a run, they can help you find someone experienced to show you how. Everyone has to start somewhere, and there is a real feeling of satisfaction from setting a good run.  We are a friendly bunch, we appreciate the effort, and you may even be in the running to win "Run of the Year" or one of the other awards.

Hints and Tips

1. Look at the hareline before setting your run location.  Other hares can get annoyed if they have recce'd a location, "reserved it" by telling us about it, and then having Jane Come Lately's choose the same location just before or after the run they had planned.
2. Decide on a location early and tell us, so we can update the hareline.  You need to tell Assistant GM Hareline, and On Sec.  This also avoids you creating the issue described above.
3. Keep away from troublesome locations.  Note in particular that any plans to run in National Parks must be discussed with the GM in advance.
4. Keep away from excessively public areas.
5. Keep your sense of humour :-)
