Run report

The weather decided to add a little excitement for 14 hashers, serving up a rainy evening. Thankfully, Mother’s Tongue laid a decent trail that kept the pack entertained and only mildly lost.

Along the way, we bumped into a Friday Hasher. Unfortunately, despite asking for his name multiple times, your scribe remains none the wiser, all whilst we were heading straight on to the furthest T check in memory.

Virgin Master was in fine form, pushing the pace from the front while somehow maintaining a continuous conversation throughout the run. Your scribe spent most of the trail wondering whether to focus on breathing, running, or answering questions. A minor heart attack was narrowly avoided. 🫩

A couple of hashers were heard complaining about dirty shoes. Might I add, these were seasoned hashers.

Near the end of the trail, FCU managed to add some drama by getting lost and taking a tumble. In true hashing spirit, he picked himself up and carried on despite having a flight to catch later that evening. We appreciate the dedication, though the passengers seated next to him on the plane may have had mixed feelings about the muddy attire.

Guest appreciation was also in order. First up was Catwoman, a familiar and always welcome guest who never fails to take countless photos for the hash. Not content with simply documenting the evening, she was also directing hashers where to look during circle photos, ensuring at least a few people appeared to know what was happening.

Next was Virgin Master, our guest choir boy, who once again brought plenty of energy, enthusiasm, and pace to the run. Some call it motivation. Others call it suffering. Either way, it keeps the pack moving and singing!

Finally, we welcomed Spaceman, who decided to join the Harriets again after disappearing for over a year, and bearing gifts at that! Appreciation aside, attention quickly turned to matters far more important than running. Run DMC was observed trying his luck with Ayam Kampong (some thigh poking (?) was involved). After bravely completing a 60km ultra trail the previous week, perhaps he felt invincible. Whether his advances were successful remains classified information.

Back into the hallowed grounds of 28 Lorong Sesuai for On On, where the evening’s final challenge includes engaging in an epic battle against the local petlife. A formidable alliance of cats, dogs, insects, all lead by a bird, seemingly determined to deny entry to a group of sweaty, mud-covered hashers. Chicken Rice, camino talk, stand up comedian being mentioned, it was a cosy night with a table full of hashers!

On On the Harriets!
