7/11s – Has anyone ever noticed how many there are? The Harriets definitely do now!

Seven – no, 8! – convinience stores were visited in all, necessitating a highly inconvenient route weaving between the crowds of Little India. Locals and tourists alike looked on, equal parts concerned, bemused, and on the verge of calling the popo (…oh wait, my ordering is wrong – that was later on 🙃)

Eleven was determined her namesake run wouldn’t overshadow her – I can confirm she was very successful. Some runners reported the only reason they found the way on home from the unmarked final leg was thanks to her strongly-shining moonlight guiding the way ahead.

Temperature was very hot. This was not helped at all by a duo of army visitors. Personally I’m still quite hazy on the specifics of how Loose Lips materialised a Magic Mike-esque utility vest out of thin air. What I do know: our virgin took to it like a duck to water. Special mention to Tina Tuna, who was especially welcoming to our lovely visitors… it remains to be seen whether they’ve been scared off or not.

Thank you to all our familiar faces who joined us for Singapore’s first ever 7-11 run- Where’s the Beef, Chicken Shit, Strapless, Nudibranch, Ayam Sinking, Eleven, Circle Jerk, Handbag, Tina Tuna – former-Harriet Indy for the beautifully crafted flower prizes, and Saliva -yet again!- for the delicious post-run nourishment.

Biggest thanks has to go to our ever-inventive hares, Loose Lips and Feral Wanker. Great run, and great on on! Here’s to hoping that the beer staffs keep on growing next year 🍻🍻🍻
